Our Story

In 2014, after years of selling other companies’ products, Ari decided to start selling his own sunglasses. He had experienced the good, the bad and the ugly when it came to the sunglass industry and wanted to take what he had learned and turn it into a quality product people would love.

Today with the help of Catherine, Paisley the dog and their two daughters, ZiZU Optics is a family run Canadian company with its head office in Pembroke, Ontario. We make products that we love, and our hope is that you will love them as well.

Our Name

Our name comes from the Finnish word Sisu and its meaning embodies the essence of racing and sport. Translated, it can mean perseverance, drive, integrity, strength, relentless determination. It is that word shouted in every language at every race in the world: Go! We like to think this word also describes us.
